What LOOK were you going for?
We moved into a home built in 1926, surprisingly with most, if not all original elements still intact. We’re not quite sure what the original builder was going for–the home has exquisite touches yet it is hard to determine a prevailing theme or style. For example, our living room chandelier is Gothic Revival, our fireplace is Spanish Revival, and the exterior is not quite Georgian, yet not quite Storybook. Our resultant style is a celebration of the eclectic mishmash in our home.
What INSPIRED you to shop JA?
Our living room mantle has two immovable, electric candlesticks that flicker orange. Unbelievably, they still function. Once we came across it, Jonathan Adler’s orange Queen Anne mirror was the only item we considered hanging in that space. It’s a modern take on a traditional style. And it’s orange. Orange!

Someone told us that our place should serve as a setting for a Nora Ephron romantic comedy.
