While I was in LA filming the next cycle of TOP DESIGN (it STARTS TONIGHT at 10 / 9c on BRAVO and is AMAZING) I got captured by ALIENS. Almost. It was something equally freaky. OK here goes: I became a DIEHARD country music fan.

Everyday when I drove to the studio in Downtown LA I found myself listening to Dierks Bentley and George Strait and Brad-I-wanna-check-you-for-ticks-Paisley. Gradually, those lilting tunes and hard-luck stories worked their magic on me and I became TOTALLY ADDICTED. And we’re not talking Loretta Lynn or Tammy Wynette or Johnny Cash, all of whom have total hipster cred. No. I’m talking Kenny Chesney and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood.
If you think I am totally bonkers then try listening to HEIDI NEWFIELD’S “Johnny and June” or “Gunpowder and Lead” by MIRANDA LAMBERT or “Boondocks” by LITTLE BIG TOWN and tell me you’re not intrigued.

My husband’s irate and wants his old RIHANNA-loving bloke back, but I’m afraid my country love is here to stay. Okay, full disclosure – I’ve always been something of a SOUTHERN-FRIED ROCK fan (I cut my teeth on SKYNYRD, Allman Brothers, etc.) so country isn’t a great leap.
